More than 2500 men and women have studied at the Umbra Institute since its founding in 2000. As an alumnus, you are among others who have been impacted in similar ways from their experiences in Perugia.
The Umbra Institute has a much different look to it now than when the doors first opened over 10 years ago. The Institute now manages three learning facilities in the historic center of Perugia in addition to an art studio and dance studio. Nearly 150 American students come to Umbra each semester from colleges and universities throughout the United States including Italian students from the Universita' degli Studi di Perugia.
What has not changed, however, is the Institute's dedication to provide an intensive, yet authentic, experience in Perugia. We are still committed to the teaching of Italian language and culture while offering a variety of courses from a broad range of disciplines. Furthermore, we continue to connect our students with the citizens and cultural institutions of Perugia. We believe immersion is the best way for our students to learn and grow - and we continue to find ways to make Umbra students part of this city.
You may agree. We would love to hear stories and reflections of your experience. Alumni have played and continue to play a crucial role with the Institute. You will find new resources for alumni on this website - opportunities to reconnect with former classmates, ways to request transcripts, and the chance to recommend future students to the Institute.
Welcome back to Umbra - reconnect with the Institute, with former friends, and with the memories from your own study abroad experience.
